Gautham is a Computer Science–AI graduate from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri, working as a Medical AI / Deep Learning Engineer. He has been part of the lab since his second year of college, growing from student researcher to research engineer. He was a Google Summer of Code 2024 contributor with DeepChem, an open-source library for machine learning on molecular data, where he worked on speeding up model training and inference and wrote tutorials to help others get the most out of the library. He has also worked extensively with the MONAI medical deep-learning framework, contributing to the MONAI Ultrasound Working Group, where he helps evaluate and benchmark medical foundation models on ultrasound imaging tasks. His team recently ranked 7th globally in the ISBI Foundation Model Challenge for Ultrasound Image Analysis. During undergrad, he was part of amFOSS, one of India's leading open-source clubs, where he mentored students, participated in hackathons, and contributed to open-source projects.
