Abhijit Ramesh studied at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham (Amritapuri), where he was an active member of the student open-source community amFOSS and participated in Google Summer of Code from 2019 to 2022, contributing to (and later mentoring for) the Mifos Initiative on machine-learning credit-scoring tools. Beginning in his senior year, he worked with Dr. Priya Nair and Gilad Gressel on deep learning methods for early pancreatic cancer detection. He is now a Machine Learning Research Engineer at Theta Tech AI and a Deep Learning Researcher at Maitri-Labs, focused primarily on medical AI. He describes himself as a generalist who spends much of his time building data pipelines and production ML infrastructure on AWS and GCP, and has also been involved in deepfake audio detection research connected to Ben-Gurion University of the Negev.
